Full Description

A large sub-square enclosure is showing as a cropmark. There are also to be faint traces of possible ring ditches. Part of the enclosure seems to overlie an earlier circular enclosure. Geophysical survey was carried out by University of Aberdeen in 2013. This found no trace of the enclosure, but subsequent trial trenching located the ditch on the west side. It measured circa 2.5 m wide and 0.6 m deep, and charcoal from the lowest fill was dated to 3635-3370 cal BC, although it is possible that the charcoal was residual.
