Full Description
Cropmark of part of a circular feature with a 'tail', possible geomorphological. Two trenches were excavated across the cropmark in 2006 by Headland Archaeology as part of the Forres Flood alleviation Scheme. They revealed a band of natural sand and a deeper layer of silting, which appears to be the result of the pooling of water at the base of the slope. This would seem to confirm the notion that the cropmark is natural.
