Full Description

Linear feature recorded during trial trenching by Headland Archaeology in 2013 ahead of the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route. It ran north-south across Trench SL0170, extending beyond the limits of the excavation. The ditch was 1.1 m wide and 0.6 m deep, the lower with frequent timber fragments and stone inclusions overlain by dark grey peat. No dating evidence was recovered, The straight vertical sides could indicate a modern date, although the layering of organic peaty material could suggest an earlier date.
