Full Description

Site of a castle, probably built in the 17th century. Older references name this site as 'House of Portleven', but it was stated that it was a castle of the same style of architecture and period as Muchals Castle. No remains of this castle can now be found. It was probably built in circa 1630, as an initialled skewputt bearing that date is incorporated into the present farmhouse (NO99NW0116) along with a second skewputt dated 1683.
