Geophysical survey was carried out by Headland Archaeology in 2012 ahead of the proposed Aberdeen Western Peripheral route.

Geophysical survey was carried out by Headland Archaeology in 2012 ahead of the proposed Aberdeen Western Peripheral route. A number of possible archaeological features were recorded. Features R (NJ8750898657) and S (NJ8780898574) in an area of cropmarks (NO89SE0069) comprised fragmentary ditch-like features. Features U (NO8939198817) and V (NO8938998731) were possible ditch like features. Feature X (NO9143899401) comprises linear features which may result from cultivation and land drains, and pit like features which could be geological. Others features investigated were concluded to be of geological origin. A watching brief during excavation of trial pits in 2008 along the line of the AWPR Southern Leg had recorded no archaeological features.
