Full Description

A trial trenching evaluation was carried out at this site in 2003 by CFA in advance of a proposed natural gas pipeline. In total, 22 trenches were excavated. Two cairns were noted, and were subsequently fully recorded and excavated. No features or deposits of archaeological interest were found beneath the cairns. No artefacts were recovered during any of the excavations. The cairns are considered to be denuded remains of clearance cairns of likely prehistoric date.
