Full Description

Geophysical survey was carried out by Headland Archaeology in 2012 ahead of the proposed Aberdeen Western Peripheral route Fastlink. A number of anomalies were recorded, but most are more likely to be of geological than archaeological origin. Some features may be cultivation remains or ditched features. At circa NO 87492 8351 weak linear features were recorded which could be ditches or enclosures of archaeological origin, but there is no clear evidence for associated features or cultivation. Faint linear features at circa NO 87245 87367 could indicate ditched enclosures, but there is no evidence for associated settlement remains within the survey area. At NO 8734487574 linear features are more likely to be from modern cultivation than medieval or later ridges.
