Full Description
Human remains. A number (circa 15) of human skeletons reported to have been found to the east of the 'present Public School' in 1849. They were buried in wooden coffins. It is suggested that this was the common burial ground or churchyard of the town until the formation of the present churchyard in Kirkburn. The exact location where these skeletons were found is unknown.
