Full Description
Circular features which have been suggested to be the possible site of stone circles. The New Statistical Account (1845) records three 'circles of earth and stone' on the top of a hill in Bervie Parish, though the 1863 OS Name Book states that local enquiries had shown that the features were not antiquities, rather that two were the remains of sheepfolds, the other a portion of land enclosed in the 19th century for tree planting. Location of the features is uncertain, although suggested that the plantation enclosure may be that shown on the OS 1st and 2nd edition maps on Dendroldrum Hill (NO87SW0004).
