Full Description
Site of cairn as depicted on the OS 1st and 2nd edition maps. The OS Name Book (1863) recorded that the site of the cairn, still then identifiable, traditionally marked the spot where one of a band of Highland robbers was killed in a skirmish with the tenantry of Glenfarquhar. OIS in 1969 founnd no trace and no local knowledge of the tradition. Its site is on the prominent shoulder of a hill adjacent to the course of an old road, and it may have been a marker cairn.
