Full Description
Three short cists. The New Statistical Account (1845) records that they were found in three gravel hillocks forming a triangle. The cists lay at a depth of circa 0.61 m and each contained an urn (or possibly beaker) ' standing at the head or west end containing only a little black earth'. The OS Name Book (1863) noted that the three hillocks indicated at the supposed sites have partly disappeared, though the site is prominent and the earth has a different appearance from the surrounding soil. OS 1967 recorded no trace and no further information.
