Full Description

Site of stone cist discovered by workmen digging for gravel in the hillock in circa 1848. The cist contained fragments of human bones and numerous perforated jet beads. It was broken up by the workmen and the beads distributed. (See NO77NW0048 for possible association with the discovery of a jet necklace in a cist in the same area). The knoll has been extensively quarried over the years.
