Full Description

A quantity of human bones were said to have been found when a bridge was being built near Pathhead (NO730 632). The large quantity of human bones were found, in an irregular heap, but no coffins or urns. The present farmer records no bones having been found during ploughing. The position is marked on the OS maps of 1867 and 1888.
