Full Description

Site of a drawbridge depicted on the OS 1st and 2nd edition maps. The bridge, which was originally a stone bridge with a single arch appears (un-named) on a map of 1794. It was altered in 1829 to remove the arch and replace it with a swing bridge to allow access for shipping. The swing bridge was removed and restored to a single arch when the railway was constructed. Now under a roundabout.
