Full Description
Site of a building. In 1950 workmen found brick foundations set upon slabs of stone continuing under the building at 5 Castle Place (NO75NW0475). In one part was a circle of stone slabs thought to represent the base of a tower or a large boiler. These remains are thought to represent the foundations of the townhouse acquired by the Earls of Montrose in the 16th Century.
