Full Description
Site of mounds. The New Statistical Account (1845) records two tree-covered and evidently artificial mounds which may have been used as fences for archers, lie near a farm called Bowbutts, NO675 923. The only two mounds that are known in the area are Castle Hill (NO69SE0001) and a natural mound circa 350m east of it.
