Full Description

A trial trenching evaluation was carried out by AOC Archaeology in October 2016 ahead of proposed residential development (Zones 8). The remains of a few furrows and occasional rubble drain represent post medieval agricultural activity. Two small pits and one large circular pit were recorded near the southern edge of the area, also probably post medieval. Near the top of the hill within this zone was a rectangular stone base and associate ditch, 1.4m wide and 0.2m deep.
