Full Description

The alleged remains of a small Carmelite Friary are in fact the remains of a depopulated settlement comprising the remains of a dwelling house, barn and byre. Certainly not a Carmelite house although Robertson suggests they could incorporate a grange. The lands were granted to the Carmelites of Aberdeen in the early 15th century. No local knowledge of any ruins in Friar's Glen and none were located in dense afforestation. No building remains were seen during Forestry Commission site visit, although it was noted that the area of the 'Park' is enclosed on all sides by earthen banks.

Period Notes
Lands granted to Carmelites in 1403.
