Full Description

Alleged site of a castle, although there is now no trace of any structure. Three stones, thought to be from the castle, are built in to west end of the south face of an outbuilding at Caldhame (NO66NE0236). The left hand stone bears a coat-of-arms and the initials AS and IB diametrically opposed. The centre stone bears the Barclay arms, the initials IB and the figures 7 1 in the lower right corner. The bottom left of the stone has been pointed over, presumably covering the numbers 1 6 as noted by Jervise (1879). The right stone is badly weathered.
