Full Description

Site of a house depicted on the OS 1st and 2nd edition maps and walled garden. It is shown on a town plan of 1822. By the time of the 2nd edition map several buildings, including greenhouses, had been added within the walled garden. It was a two-storey building with Dutch gables with a later extension to the northwest in the same style and 2-storey 20th century extensions to the northeast and south. Later in use as a hotel, it was damaged by fire in 2006, and subsequently demolished. During World War I the house and its stables were used as military billets.
