Full Description
A trial trenching evaluation carried out by CFA in advance of proposed improvements to the A92, recorded a number of features in this stretch. At the eastern at circa NO 61710 39361, trench 2 and 2a revealed the remains of a souterrain and two long cist burials (NO63NW0007). Rig and furrow were identified in a number of trenches, and at the western end of this section a series of large pits were recorded, with sherds from three Late Neolithic decorated Grooved Ware vessels recovered from one pit.
