Full Description
Site of a cairn/cist. A stone cist was found near the south side of the public road in circa 1860. It was situated on the top of an eminence, and below a cairn of small stones. It consisted of five stones, two side slabs, two end slabs and a capstone. The bottom was laid with small pebbles. It was orientated east-west and contained a quantity of dark earth or ashes mixed with small pieces of human bone, and fragments of a skull, which appeared calcined or burnt. The farmer replaced the cover after examining the contents. No further information.
