Full Description

Site of Culdee Monastery. A Culdee convent is said to have been founded by Malcolm II (1005-1134) and to have stood in the gardens to the W of the Cathedral (NO56SE0012) called 'The College Yards'. On the erection of the episcopal see circa 1150, the prior and brethren of the Culdee community became the chapter of the Cathedral.
