Full Description
Several boundary stones are depicted on the OS map of 1888. Some are still marked on modern maps. There are also small boundary cairns depicted on the OS maps of 1846. The area is now afforested so it is unknown how many survive. Walkover survey by AOC in 2012 ahead of proposed wind farm development included two of the sites (the boundary stone on the summit of Cairn Cattoch, and the marker on the top of Hunt Hill) but neither were located. Field survey by CFA in 2018 ahead of a proposed wind farm located two of the stones. At NJ2016648471 is an orthostat measuring 0.4 m wide tapering to a point, and standing 0.6 m high, with no visible markings. At NJ2324246982 is a stone pillar now lying on its side, measuring circa 1 m long and with the letters 'MARCH' incised on one side.
