Full Description
Site of a well called 'Droustie's Well', which is shown on both the 1st and 2nd edition OS maps and was described in 1860 as 'muddy from long disuse, and its name nearly unknown'. The name 'Droustie' is a corruption of St Drostan, to whom the parish church (see NO48SW0004) was dedicated. By 1967, when revisited by the OS, the well, still known locally by name, had been filled in and its site obliterated by rubble.
