Full Description
Geophysical survey was carried out in February to March 2009 by PKHT in the field adjacent to St Orland's Stone cross slab (NO45SW0004). Features included two possible sub-circular enclosures and possible small barrows to the west of the cross slab. Anomalies southwest of the Stone may indicate the presence of burials and trenching associated with 19th century excavations (NO45SW0008). The results were generally poorly defined due to the background geology and likely truncation of archaeological features from recent agricultural activity.
