Full Description

Site of a Linen and Jute Works. On the 1st edition the mill is annotated as a 'Steamloom Factory (Flax)' and appears to be a rectangular range with central courtyard. By the 2nd edition OS map there has been considerable expansion and the courtyard is roofed. Additional buildings are shown on the north and west sides. The complex was described by Hume in 1974 as a 'mid 19th century. A large complex of one and two-storey rubble buildings with a two-storey, 3- by 3-bay snecked-rubble office block'. The 2006 map shows that the works has been removed and its site now contains housing.
