Full Description

Site of a Linen and Jute works, shown on the 2nd edition OS map. Described by Hume as 'built 1867. A handsome one-storey, 3- by 15-bay, snecked-rubble front block, with round-headed windows and a central pedimented entrance, with a large range of single-storey north-light weaving sheds at the rear'. In the mid 20th century it is depicted on the OS maps as a Tweed Mill. The 2006 OS map shows that the works is now demolished. Photographed by the RCHAMS in 1998 whilst still standing.
