Full Description
Alleged site of bridge. There is now no trace and no knowledge of the bridge, thought to be medieval and alleged by Simpson to have been found on the Dee, where the river was crossed by the Capel Mounth Road. It is apparently a poor place for a bridge as the Dee has cut several channels. Simpson may be referring to the wooden bridge which stood near the site of the present bridge from 1834 to 1885.
