Full Description

The farmstead of Tomnakeist is depicted on the OS map of 1867 as an L-shaped range, with two rectangular buildings to the south, each with an attached enclosure, and another two to the west. To the north is a millpond, and slighty further north again is a rectangular sheepfold. One of the buildings south of the range had been removed by the time of the OS 2nd edition map. Current maps show that the east wing of the range has since been removed but a new one added on the west. The two buildings to the west have been removed and the pond appears to have been infilled.
