Full Description

Remains of a farmstead depicted on the OS 1st edition map, comprising an F-plan range with a small building to the south, and a mill building to the west, fed by a lade from a pond to the west. On the 2nd edition map only the F-plan range and building to the south are shown. Parts of the range are shown as roofed on current maps. Field survey in May 2022 ahead of a proposed overhead 132kV line (NJ25SE0078) recorded the remaining buildings. The remains of the mill measure 8 m by 3 m, the walls up to 0.6 m thick and 0.4 m high. T No trace of the pond or lade were observed. To the southwest is an area of field clearance stones measuring 6 m by 4m and 0.6 m high. A north-south track (NJ24NE0028) passes to the west of the farmstead.
