Full Description
A watching brief was undertaken by CFA Archaeology in November 2011 during groundbreaking works associated with the construction of a new transfer pipeline between Kirriemuir WwTW and the Dean Water. The watching brief centred on the section of pipeline which crossed the previously recorded Roman road (NO35SE9906). During the watching brief six pits and one field drain were identified and excavated. The pits and field drain appeared to be modern and of no archaeological significance. No trace of the Roman road was found.
