Full Description

Desk based assessment and walkover field survey was carried out by Clyde Archaeology in October 2023 over two areas ahead of proposed woodland creation. This recorded a number of previously known features: NO35NW0096 (cairn), NO35NW0095 (cairn), NO35NW0098 (woodland boundary), NO25NW0070 (track), NO35NW0068 (hollow-ways), NO35NW0080 (cairns), NO35NW0020 (cairn), NO35NW0101 (cairns), NO35NW0055 (settlement, field system), and various new features were recorded: NO35NW0103 (farmstead), NO35NW0104 (clearance cairns), NO35NW0105 (dykes), NO35NW0106 (woodland boundary), NO35NW0107 (possible enclosure). One previously recorded feature could not be located NO35NW0050 (building).
