Full Description
A watching brief was carried out by AOC Archaeology in August 2021 during topsoil stripping for a new house. It recorded a buried topsoil containing small stones, brick, white ceramics and charcoal. Two features were identified, a linear feature and a posthole. Both contained modern material including white ceramic and glass. The linear feature aligns broadly with various arrangements on 19th century maps and may be a garden boundary of 19th century origin. The 1st edition OS map shows a rectangular building which had been removed by the time of the 2nd edition map.
