Full Description
Site of the now infilled 'King's Well', a well with traditional associations. It and 'Grahame's Knowe' are mentioned in the New Statistical Account as part of the route of Macbeth northwards from Dunsinane Hill. The OS recorded the tradition in 1861 that this was a place where Macbeth often quenched his thirst. It is marked as 'Site of King's Well' on both the 1st and 2nd edition OS maps.
