Full Description

Remains of a small farmstead depicted on OS historic maps. The 1st edition OS map shows two buildings, the larger to the northwest of the Burn of Riveach, the other to the southeast of the burn. To the northeast, also alongside the burn is a limekiln. By the time of the 2nd edition OS map, the farmstead appears to be disused with only part of the building southeast of the burn shown as roofed. The limekiln is annotated as 'old limekiln'. Pre-afforestation survey of Glen Rinnes in 1987 recorded the stone foundations of a rectangular structure on the south bank of the burn with a small adjacent banked yard, suggested to be the remains of a mill on the basis of its location. The limekiln and other buildings are not shown on current OS maps.
