Full Description
Site of the battle of Cairnwell which was was fought in 1602. The main conflict took place on the Aberdeenshire side. Cattle thieves retreating with their booty from Glenshee defeated their pursuers until routed by the men of Braemar under McKenzie of Dalmore.
