Full Description

Coring survey carried out by University of Dublin and University of Stavanger in 2022 to investigate the terrace around a flint scatter first identified in 2015 (NN99SE0004) and subject to excavation in 2022. A total of 142 cores were dug, distributed on a 10 m grid with additional cores close to the breaks off slope. The survey recovered evidence for a dynamic post-glacial evolution of the land surface with major processes of erosion likely caused by a developing and maturing river system. A series of palaeochannels of varying size cross the terrace.
