Full Description
An area of post-medieval, later and modern agricultural features, including shallow rig and furrows, field drains, plough-marks and made ground associated with a series of modern service trenches and slots, recorded by AOC Archaeology in September 2020 during the Peterhead Substation trial trenching evaluation (NK14SW0313). Remains of rig and furrow, consisting of four shallow depressions each approximately 2 m wide by up to 0.2 m deep, were revealed in the north of the area. Remains of rig and furrow were also recorded towards the centre of the area, where a single flint artefact (NK14SW0325) was recovered from the upper surface of the rig and furrow fill.
