Full Description

Site of a town house and inn. A 16th Century town house formerly occupied this site, although the OS 1st and 2nd edition maps depict remains of a castle. It was probably built circa 1593 and demolished before 1793. It was latterly an inn known as 'Yokieshill', the name still in use 1819. OS in 1968 noted that the site was occipied by a factory and the name Yokieshill no longer known locally. An evaluation carried out in 2018 (NK14NW0451) recorded that is appears any remains have been completely removed.

Period Notes
