Full Description
Site of alleged grave. Whilst digging gravel from a pit 600yds in front of the House of Crimondgate, two upright stones were found, 0.83m and 0.94m high. A few stones evidently placed in a line lay close by on the S side. In the face of the cutting into the gravel pit a black curved line was discernible beginning at the surface where the two stones were placed, curving downwards to a depth of 1.21m and emerging at the surface 6.40m away. When analysed, this blackish earth proved to contain a high proportion of phosphates. No small finds were made. Now no trace.
