Full Description

Site of two stone cists, found in 1837. They contained human bones and ashes, but were subsequently destroyed. Probably the site of a cairn. The name Meikle Tap where the cists were found is not known locally now. On the basis of topography, it has been suggested as a possible crannog, the nearby Meikle Loch having been significantly lowered, but there is no evidence for this at present.
