Full Description

A 7 percent trial trenching evaluation was carried out by Cameron Archaeology in April 2013 ahead of development. On the higher ground at the northwest of the site, investigation uncovered a shallow scoop containing a flint scraper. It had probably been a small working area for preparation of fish or animal products, although the lack of other finds suggests the area was not intensively used. No archaeological features were recorded in the trenches in the east half of the site which had been within the area of the River Ythan.
