Full Description

Site of chapel/ priest's house, dedicated apparently to the Nine Maidens, whose well supplies Pitsligo Castle. Macfarlane writing in 1908 noted that the ruins of the chapel were still (1723), used as the burial place for shipwrecked mariners. Human bones have been found at the site. The Priest's house was a little lower down, at a spot called the Priest's Knowe (NJ9396 6747). OS noted in 1967 that there was no trace or local knowledge of chapel or Priest's Knowe.
