Full Description
Site of cairn, a small natural earthen knoll with no artificial features. Cists, human remains and flint arrowheads were reported to have been found. The name is still known locally but no recent finds have been reported. There are no traces , or local knowledge, of other cairns beside the road, but the dovecot (OS NJ96NW016) stands on a natural earthen knoll, which may be one of the features referred to by J Greig (OSA). A faint circular cropmark is visible at this grid reference.
