Full Description

Site of dovecot, built in the 16th Century. It stood on a rock more than 50 yards (circa 45.7 m) south of the Wine Tower (NJ96NE008). It was removed 'in the fifties' when the rock was blasted and used in the construction of the harbour jetty. Sited from a print in Edinburgh, which shows a square building with three string courses and crow-stepped gables on a sea rock. Almost certainly contemporary with the castle. Now no trace.
