Full Description
A single trench was excavated in this area in October 2011 by MAS as part of the Book of Deer Project. No finds or features were revealed. On the 1st edition OS map, this garden is shown as open ground behind the south boundary of the Episcopal Church. It appears to have been in continuous use for cultivation with manure and midden deepening the topsoil. It is very similar to Trenches 6 and 7 further along Abbey Street (see NJ94NE0101).
