Full Description
Two trenches (10-11) were excavated in this area in October 2011 by MAS as part of the Book of Deer Project. No finds or features were recovered from these trenches. This landscaped area of pavement and garden beds on the corner opposite the graveyard appears to have little potential for the survival of early stratigraphy as it has been scarped during the demolition of the 19th century buildings and the construction of the existing sheltered housing. As a result, even the areas between the 19th century foundations have been disturbed.
