Full Description
Site of an almshouse. Documentary evidence from manuscript in Advocate's Library, Aberdeen, circa 1700: 'Here is still an hospital, founded for three poor men, by the first Alexander Forbes of Foveran ..' and from The Spalding Club (1843) as '...at the kirk, with an inscription on a marble stone on the corner of the house and another inscription above the gate of the almshouse.' OS site visit 1964 noted that the minister of the present church had no knowledge of this almshouse and the precise location has never been established. No trace and no further information.
