Full Description
Trial trenching evaluation was carried out in September 2014 ahead of proposed development. No archaeological features were identified, but seven flints and one sherd of prehistoric pottery were recovered from the topsoil and two waste flints from gravels at the east end of trench 1. A watching brief was carried out by Cameron Archaeology in March 2018 during the removal of topsoil at the east end of Trench 1 and further flints were recovered. The lithics include bipolar material and a crested blade suggesting the material may date to different periods between the early Neolithic and early Bronze Age.
